„Suleika“, the enchanting daughter of the sultan, wants to get married. The one who brings her the most beautiful carpets and also the most money will be chosen. The sultan sends out his faithful servant, Omar, to look for qualified candidates at the flying bazaar.
The object of the game is to build the largest possible connected areas of your own color by cleverly laying out carpets. To do so, you are allowed to cover other players' carpet halves with your own. In the course of the game, a three-dimensional, "interwoven carpet landscape" develops. On this ground, the players move Omar, the sultan's servant, as their joint playing piece. Whoever gets Omar to stop on another player's carpets has to pay a "space rent" to the owner of the carpet; its amount depends on the size of the carpet area entered. This way, a competition breaks out to "lure" servant Omar as often and extensively as possible onto your own carpet layout.
„Suleika“ is a refined and, at the same time, amazingly easily understandable laying and moving game. The three-dimensional carpet layout - made from real textiles - creates the vivid atmosphere of an oriental bazaar on the gameboard.
