Tobago, an adventurous treasure hunt
On all-terrain vehicles through dense jungle

Treasure hunt at the wheel of all-terrain vehicles – “Tobago“ is the new board game by Zoch. The intoxicating adventure game whisks you away to the Caribbean, to the island of forgotten treasures, which are waiting to be discovered. Torn fragments of a treasure map should help you in your search – a complex undertaking. To find and raise a treasure the players rely on their all-terrain vehicles to cross dense jungle, scale rocky heights and ford raging torrents. Once the treasure has been found it is distributed between the player who found the treasure and players who provided valuable clues about the treasure site helping to narrow down the search. Amulets protect players against imponderables like the curse of the island, which is hidden in some treasure chests. The player with the most gold coins at the end wins the game.

The game board is a novelty: A wide range of game board options ensures that no two games are alike. The board is divided into three sections with different fronts and backs and these can be shifted one field and held together using three connectors, creating a total of 32 different island scenarios.

“Tobago“ by Bruce Allen for two to four players ages 10 and up is an original treasure hunt with attractive playing material and the atmospheric graphics common to all games by Zoch. Exciting moves and a sophisticated mechanism for distributing the treasure are simply waiting to be discovered. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

El Paso – Raids in the Wild West
From Deadwood to El Paso

“El Paso“ from the Munich game publisher Zoch brings the Wild West into your family room. The players roam the country as crooks in search of riches. They loot one town after the other: first Deadwood then Cheyenne, Abilene, Santa Fe and last of all El Paso. The crooks drive the cattle from the pastures, raid saloons, hotels, gold mines and banks.

With each move the players decide on a new raid. But sometimes it is not possible to raid the saloon or steal cattle – this is decided by five dice. Whoever spends a lot of time in the town and does not get in the sheriffs’ way, can get away with a good haul. However, anyone who is caught loses their stolen goods before these have been silvered. The villains obtain the most nuggets and make a good profit if they manage to sell their booty to the town at the going exchange rate. The winner is the player with the most nuggets in his bag at the end of the game.

“El Paso“ by author Stefan Dorra is an entertaining game for gamblers and at the same time an amusing game for the whole family. It impresses thanks to the tension it creates between assessing tactics and blind greed. Price approx. 20 euros. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

Zicke Zacke Igelkacke – swiping fruit
A fast-paced memory rally for children four and up

A game by Klaus Zoch always promises creative and cheeky fun. Children and adults know that at the latest since the classic “Zicke Zacke Hühnerkacke“, which was awarded the “Sonderpreis Kinderspiel des Jahres“ and the “German Kinderspielepreis“ over ten years ago. The prize-winning game has now been given a new theme: In “Zicke Zacke Igelkacke“ cheeky wood hedgehogs are all set to compete.

The game takes place in the garden. Here cuddly hedgehogs participate in their own Olympics. They start off with different fruits on their backs: currants, gooseberries, blueberries and yellow plums. Each tries to overtake the others in this memory rally. What is important is to remember the motifs on hidden path tiles well to get ahead on the course. If a hedgehog manages to overtake the prickly competitor in front of him he steals his skewered fruit. The winner is whoever manages to get hold of all the goodies first. Apart from the cheeky nature of the game a good memory is also called for. The beautifully processed haptic wood pieces guarantee fun for kids aged four and up. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

Mausgeflippt – a fast-moving card game
Mice as models on the catwalk

The mouse is stepping out – the latest collection of Karl Katerfell and Tommy Hilkatzer is being presented on the catwalk. Everyone wants to have it, but not everyone is going to get it. Things are turbulent in “Mausgeflippt“ the fast-paced card game by Zoch. As clever cats the players try to catch the fashionable mice. They only succeed if they have pieces of clothing or accessories on hand that match what the snazzy mice are wearing. If a mouse is wearing a red blazer, the card with the identical piece of clothing must be quickly played. The same goes for a green belt or blue shoes. Whoever doesn’t have the matching wardrobe on hand calls “mausgeflippt“ and throws all seven cards on top of the mouse. Only the player who reacts correctly can catch the snazzy mouse. But watch out. Pieces of cheese protect the grey models against attacks. Any cat who can’t keep its paws off them collects minus points. The winner is the player who has collected the most points at the end of the game.

“Mausgeflippt“ by Chislaine van den Bulk is a fast card game in which the subtle differences count – ideal for families with children. It schools and trains quick reactions. Rules are short and easy to understand. Price approx. 8 euros. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

Mini “Heckmeck“ for your pants pocket
Boring wait time is a thing of the past

Gamble anywhere and any time – the click tin for people on the move: The popular gambling game “Heckmeck am Bratwurmeck“ from the Zoch publisher, which has become a cult, is now available in a limited edition click tin. Small and handy it fits into any pants or jacket pocket. Main pieces are the familiar “Zoch chickens“, which are all set for a turbulent dice competition. Two to seven players aged eight and up try to get hold of “barbeque worms” for their chickens, so they don’t go hungry. 16 different valuable portions of worms are placed in the middle of the table to be snapped up by the dicing chickens. However, if you don’t manage to get hold of any worms from the “barbecue“ you can maybe swipe a portion from another player.
