1. März 2011
Once again the Munich games publisher ZOCH will present its spring novelties for all age groups at the forthcoming Toy Fair. The time had come for a relaunch, so the games have been given a new fun and cheeky look. Look forward to lots of new creative games - from outdoor games to a card throwing game and memory puzzle. “Crossboule“ is an outdoor game for beach or city. The great new card throwing game “Arschbombe“ transports players of eight and up to the outdoor swimming pool. In “Avanti” bon vivants set out in funky company cars to arrange a concert. “Auf die Birne“ is a counting game and the For kids of four and up there’s a digging race to find the worm ”Da ist der Wurm drin“. The reaction game ”Zicke Zacke“, a card game, is also aimed at the little ones. And the “Zozzle“ series has been expanded with four memory puzzles for four-year-olds: the ”Zozzle“ for kids with Princess Lila, Captain Red Jake, Oscar & Sinchen and the Jungle Kids.
“Crossboule“ – an outdoor game
Third-generation boules
On the beach, in the city or in the jungle – “Crossboule“, the new indoor and outdoor game from Zoch brings people together. The idea was borrowed from the game of skill boules, yet “Crossboule“ is far more flexible. Each player has three squeezy balls and a target ball, called piglet and you can play on the sand, on stairs or even on shelves. To make it more difficult you can put something, like a chair, in the way. Who manages to throw their ball onto the chair next to the piglet and who throws it under the chair? Let your fantasy run wild.
In “Crossboule“ each player can play against everyone else or you can play in teams of two or three players each. You get points for throwing your ball as close to the piglet as possible. Extra points are given for special formats (flower, snake, worm or pyramid), so-called combos. The first player or team to win two sets of eleven points wins the match.
“Crossboule“ by Mark Calin Caliman is third-generation boules. Each set contains the material for two players: six balls and a target ball, the piglet. There are three designs available: Beach, Downtown and Jungle. So the indoor and outdoor game is suitable for two and more players of six and up and costs approx. 20 euros. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

“Avanti“ – in cult cars from event to event
The dream of opting out – you first need the cash
What would rock concerts, world football championships or fashion shows be without cappuccino, canapés … and toilet paper? “Avanti“ is the challenge to the entrepreneurs who are to equip events all over the place fast and well in their cult cars in retro look. They race from one appointment to the next in their 2CV, Beetle, Renault and VW bus to ensure there are always plenty of cool drinks, sandwiches and clean toilet seats. Whoever delivers punctually cashes in and quickly gets closer to their dream of lying in a hammock in the sunny south. Good foresight and correct assessment of fellow players help here. So round for round it is a question of keeping one step ahead, overtaking, raking in the cash and getting rich.
Once again Zoch convinces thanks to great playing material: cult cars from the 60s, registration papers, triangular power cards for more or less speed and bank notes make the game fun to play for the whole family.
“Avanti“ by Heinz Meister is cool and a classic family game for players ten and up. The original game mechanism which makes it necessary to keep a constant eye on fellow players ensures playing fun. The game for two to five players ten and up takes 45 to 60 minutes and costs about 25 euros. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

"Arschbombe“ – let the cards fall from a dizzying height
An unusual card game
Dive in head first, do a backflip or a cannonball – there are no limits to the ways of jumping into an open air swimming pool: “Arschbombe“ is an unusual card game. To the onlooker it seems as if its raining playing cards, far from it. This is a serious competition: The players let their divers plunge into the swimming pool from different heights and use different throwing techniques to throw rowdies into the water. The target is always a pool made of cards and the slightly stronger cards enable these daring dives and jumps. Exact, masterful dives are rewarded. Cards which show rowdies land among the spectators. “Cannonballs“ from the pool edge – who doesn’t know them – are just as intentional as breathtaking dives from a dizzying height. The trainer who uses his divers skilfully and always has a steady hand will win this “jumping and diving competition“.
“Arschbombe“ by authors Uwe Rapp and Bernhard Lach is for two to four players eight and up. Assessing the height and flight qualities of the cards correctly is great fun. The game takes about 20 minutes and costs approx. 10 euros. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

Games for children four and up
“Zozzle” for the very young
A fascinating combination of memory game and puzzle
Use your memory to assemble a puzzle – the ideal game for children. The first games in the new memory puzzle series “Zozzle“ were published a year ago. Although they are based on the familiar game mechanisms of memorizing and puzzling the combination provides exceptional playing incentive. Zoch has now added “Zozzle” for kids of four and up to the series. Children will love the large format characters in comic style: Princess Lila, Captain Red Jake, Oscar & Sinchen and the Jungle Kids.
Find pairs. Make a comic figure. Done! The box contains large format cards, which can be put together to form a whole according to the pairs principle – but you have to use your memory to puzzle. The players compete to memorize and pick up the cards they need for their motif from the 45 cards placed face down. You need nine cards to complete one comic figure. The players take turns in turning over two cards at a time so that everyone can see them. If two are the same the player can keep one. If they are different it’s the next player’s turn. The winner is the first player to complete a comic figure.
“Zozzle“ is the first game of Elena Fyrogeni. It calls for a good memory and a quick grasp. Getting started is easy. The game for two to four players of four years and up takes 15 to 20 minutes and costs approx. 13 euros. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

"Da ist der Wurm drin“
An amusing worm race for children of four and up
Who’s fastest? In the children‘s game “Da ist der Wurm drin“ worms burrow like crazy and each player tries to lengthen its worm bit by bit. The worms dig their way underground until finally they are allowed to come up above the earth again in the compost heap in Mr Wurmfeld‘s garden. Daisies and a pile of leaves tempt them along the way. Whoever is able to estimate which worm will reach the stop-offs quickest can also feed their worm to help them burrow even faster. The first worm to stick its head out of the compost heap wins.
"Da ist der Wurm drin“ is an attractive and stable, amusingly designed worm race for two to four players four and up. It takes 15 to 20 minutes and costs approx. 25 euros. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

“Auf die Birne“ – Madeleine bites her way through
A counting game for children
Madeleine is pretty, but small and chubby. She is a greedy maggot. She‘s very fond of her friends Jonathan and Willi. But at some stage they all fall out of the tree – apples, pears and Madeleines. Then they have to watch out. For they will only get part of the harvest if they count correctly.
The 80 playing cards consist of 60 cards of fallen fruit and 20 harvest cards. Each player turns cards over in turn until a harvest card is uncovered or there are at least eleven cards of one type of fruit in the pile of cards. Each player quietly keeps count. The player who then reacts fast when the time is ripe and can name the correct number of apples, pears or Madeleines wins the harvest card. The game ends when the last card has been played. The winner is the player with the most harvest cards.
“Auf die Birne“ is a fast-paced counting game, which is fun for the whole family. It trains quick recognition, adding and reactions. The game for two to five players four and up takes 15 to 20 minutes and costs approx. 10 euros. Info: www.zoch-verlag.com.

“Zicke Zacke“ – Hide behind hedges and fences
An amusing card game from the Zoch chicken family
The motto of this entertaining fast-paced card game with the long-familiar and beloved animals of the Zoch chicken family is “find the hiding places behind hedges and fences“. The game cards show chickens, ducks or foxes that are hiding behind fence slats and hedges. However, as they are curious they peep out so that players can spy them. Some cards are placed in front of the players, others are in a “neutral“ place: the barn. In each round a card is turned over. Then all players seek the animal at the same time. If you see it, you quickly slap on the correct card with one hand and the animal sought is yours. But don’t slap on the wrong card too quickly or you’ll have to give up one of your animals to the barn. The winner is the player who has the most animals at the end.
“Zicke Zacke“ is a speedy hiding and reaction game from the publisher’s editorial team and is ideal as a small gift for any birthday party. The game for two to five players four and up takes 15 to 20 minutes and costs approx. 7 euros. Infos: www.zoch-verlag.com.
