June 29, 2009: The jury of Spiel des Jahres announced today that ”Nicht zu fassen“ by Zoch is one of the nominees for the Kinderspiel des Jahres 2009. The game is an adaptation of the fairy tale "The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats".
Zoch has developed a magical game, which is a mixture of hide and seek, role play and interaction and which carries children of four and up off into the world of "The Wolf and the Seven little Goats ". It gets really exciting each time one of the children takes over the role of the wolf, and as a finger puppet starts hunting for the goats that run and hide. The fairy tale of the wolf and the seven little goats is translated into a game here. The goats try to hide from the wolf wherever they can in the room: in the oven, in the closet, in the bed, under the table, behind the door, in a washtub or in the floor clock. They have ten seconds to hide. Every little goat the snooping wolf finds belongs to him. If he doesn’t watch out he has to let them go again. The reward for each of the little goats that he doesn’t find is a boul-der. The winner is the player with the most boulders at the end of the game.
The game idea developed by Fréderic Moyersoen (Belgium) is not only beautifully implemented the playing material is also delightful with a cuddly finger puppet wolf, wooden playing figures and sturdy cardboard furniture. The rules are short and easy. “Nicht zu fassen“ by Zoch for two to six players of four and up. Price approx. EUR 27.
