New games in store from end of March: Last year the Munich game publisher Zoch celebrated its 20th anniversary. This year the motto is “10 years of Zicke Zacke Hühnerkacke“. The children‘s game which has won several awards was the first in a whole series of games which focus on the colorful world of the chicken yard. The anniversary edition with a baseball cap is to be presented at the toy fair in Nuremberg. “Fladderadatsch“ is all about a bubbly birdwatcher who sometimes steps in horse droppings. “Suleika“ takes us off to the orient and ”Cheesy Gonzola“ is an expansion of the three-dimensional game “Burg Appenzell“, which won an award last year.
The expansion reveals tactical finesses
Cheesy Gonzola – the cheese terror of Burg Appenzell
The expansion of “Burg Appenzell“, which won the as well as the “Esse-ner Feder“ for the best game rules, is called ”Cheesy Gonzola“. Thanks to an additional set of mice and a pint-sized tower to be placed wherever play-ers wish up to five people can now join in the fun at the three-dimensional castle, covered with cheese. In addition the speedy cheese terror named Cheesy Gonzola has now also joined the fun and three sliding boards with special functions. Whoever lands on the sliding mechanism, for example, can slide again. The new secret passage to the pantry can be very useful, but also leads to interesting surprises. “Cheesy Gonzola“ guarantees 30 minutes of fun, mischievousness and startling turns of events.
The game which was designed by Jens-Peter Schliemann and Bernhard We-ber for two to four children, six years and up, has become far more attractive thanks to the expansion and is now suitable for young and old players of eight years and up. It has become many-faceted, more interactive and tactically more demanding.

Amusing heap run between cow pats and horse droppings
Fladderadatsch – birdwatchers go stalking
”Fladderadatsch“ is a game of cow pats and horse droppings. The game for children 5 years and up is an amusing heap run. You need to have a good memory if as an avid birdwatcher you are to spot as many different flying objects as possible without stepping in hidden droppings on the ground. Bumblebees, ravens or aircraft – Florian Flügel photographs anything that flies and all too often overlooks what is lying in front of his nose on the ground. Horse droppings are hidden in the false floor of the game board with the photo boards he is looking for placed between these. When it goes splat Florian has stepped in droppings. If he reaches the motif he is looking for safely without hearing a splat then he can add it to his own photo gal-lery. Luckily he also has a stool which he can use to save himself from un-pleasant surprises and get hold of the motif despite everything. The player with the largest photo collection at the end wins.
“Fladderadatsch“ by Jacques Zeimet is an amusing heap run, which is a lot of fun for children and stimulating at the same time thanks to its haptically attractive wooden figure Florian Flügel, its wooden stool and pretty draw-ings. Concentration is needed: if it goes splat too often, this is a sign of sub-stantial lapses of memory.

Carpet trade in the Orient
Suleika – a shrewd game of laying and stacking
In the past seven years Zoch has published more than 20 games for the French market in cooperation with Gigamic. Now for the first time the Mu-nich publisher has taken over a game of its French partner.
“Suleika“ carries you off to a world of bazaars and storytellers. The game is shaped by a whole lot of colorfully woven carpets, laid next to or stacked on top of each other. Each player tries to spread their carpets out skillfully to create as large as possible areas of their own color. If the vizier Omar lands on foreign carpets, he has to pay the owner stand rental. So tacticians are called for, to earn well on the one hand, when Omar comes to visit and to let as many carpets as possible disappear under their own, on the other. It is important to consider carefully before each move which way Omar will move. What counts at the end of the game are visible carpets and piles of money.
The entertaining and at the same time realistic carpet trade by Dominique Ehrhard carries young and old of 8 years and up away into a new dimension of laying games with an oriental fair. The attractive wooden figure Omar, the little material “Berbers“, wooden coins and a large wooden dice turn this tactical game into a haptic pleasure.
