Rüdiger Dorn

Rüdiger Dorn

Year of Birth 1969,
diploma in economics teaching,
lives in the region around Nuremberg,
married, 3 children;

Highly prestressed in his early years -"anyhow my father played once a year with us!", Rüdiger startet with the age of 10 years to develop new versions from famous games like "Fang den Hut" oder "Malefiz".
Later on following up with his own board game ideas by adapting computer games like "Frogger", "Donkey Kong" etc. "all similiar to start and target games with event cards".

At the age of 19 he recognized "Die Spielbox", a professional game journal. "From this moment I suddenly realized, that there are real people behind the games, who invented them!"

From this moment on, he tried to find out more about being a game inventor. The "Leitfaden für Spieleerfinder" written by Tom Werneck, one of the founders of the "Game of the Year" - society, helped him a lot.

"This book I can truely recommend to everybody, who is an absolute newcomer in this branch of trade".

And a copple of years later the dream became true:
My first game "Cameo" was published from HABA in 1992.

Meanwhile Rüdiger Dorn belongs to the second generation of hobby-game-inventors and he can proudly present more than 10 published games. While hoping that the culture of playing should survive, he is still (and briskly) creating new game ideas, like the brand new Louis XIV.
