Spinderella

Spinderella turns an ant race into a lively 3D chase, with 1 spider hanging beneath the web while 2 spider brothers guide her from above through a magnetic mechanism. On the table, the raised forest frame creates a clear view of ants running below and spiders crossing the canopy overhead. Roberto Fraga designed the game for 2 to 4 players aged 6Y+, with a playing time of around 20 minutes. Winner of Kinderspiel des Jahres 2015, the German critics' prize for children's board games, and Deutscher Spielepreis Best Children's Game 2015. The setup uses 4 tree supports, 1 spider web, and 1 ant racetrack, with a short route on 1 side and a long route on the reverse. 12 ants in 4 colors race toward the berry finish, while 3 dice direct whether ants move, spiders move, or the bark shifts position. The brown ant die shows 1 to 6, the black spider die shows 2 to 3, and the green picture die decides the type of action. A bark piece can cover ants, carry stacked ants, or block movement until it is moved again. When Spinderella is lowered directly onto an ant, the caught ant returns to the start field. Rounds stay active because players balance racing their own color with sending Spinderella after opposing ants. The 2-level board makes every move easy to read, whether ants stack for piggyback rides, hide under the bark, or dash for the finish line. A game lasts around 20 minutes, making it well suited to lively family rounds and repeat play.
