Über den Wolken

Über den Wolken turns the annual journey south into a tactical board game where every launch position matters. Across 2 game boards with 2 board extensions, 2-4 players arrange female and male migratory birds, watch the shifting order in the flock and try to send the right birds into the air at the right moment, creating a table scene filled with birds, cards and colored cubes above a cloud-bright board. The game uses a limited pool of action markers, and the cost of choosing the same action again rises, which gives each round a clear resource puzzle. Maneuver cards add further control over positions in the sky, while the changing flight routes keep one session from settling into a fixed pattern. The component set supports that tactical structure with 64 playing cards, 25 bird tiles, 64 action cubes and 4 score markers. A reference card shown in the game layout also points to combination scoring, including values for grouped birds and a female plus male pairing worth 6 points. Konstantinos Karagiannis designed the mechanism, and Alexander Jung gives the flock, clouds and bird forms a calm, airy visual identity. With a playing time of 45 minutes, the game fits focused weeknight sessions as well as longer table rounds with 3 or 4 players. The shifting balance between front-row departures and profitable late positions keeps the table talk active as each move changes the options still open in the flock.
