Flitze Flatze Bärentatze

Flitze Flatze Bärentatze turns a salmon race into a constantly changing river puzzle for 2 to 4 players aged 6Y+. Picture cards are placed in the centre of the board so they overlap, rotate the shared image and decide which salmon remain visible enough to swim onward toward their spawning grounds. That shifting layout gives the game its distinctive mechanism. Every new card changes more than one route at once, because tributaries can open, narrow or become blocked as the layers build up. Progress depends on reading the visible paths at the right moment and placing a card where it helps one salmon while slowing another. Babbel the Bear adds another moving obstacle by prowling from river to river and stopping fish that stray into reach. The result is a children's game with simple rules, but with planning, overview and tactical timing in every round. Around the table, the shared river picture keeps all eyes on the centre as salmon appear, disappear and re-emerge with each placement. Short turns and changing routes suit family game sessions where younger and older players can follow the action together while still finding room for clever moves.
